Description:
441grade coil is an 18% chromium, dual stabilized ferritic stainless steel with corrosion resistance similar to that of 304/304L. This grade may be used in the annealed, cold-formed, or as-welded condition in applications where other stainless steels, such as grade 304/304L and Coil 430, are used. It has good weldability due to titanium and niobium stabilization and has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking. It outperforms Coil 409 in oxidation and corrosion resistance, and typical applications include automotive manifolds and exhaust system components. The high-temperature strength of Coil 441 exceeds that of both Coil 439 and 409
Processing:
Cold forming with a small degree of deformation is easily feasible at temperatures higher than room temperature. Sheets with larger thicknesses and higher degrees of deformation should be preheated up to 200 to 400°C. Hot forming or annealing colours affect the corrosion resistance after welding or scaling.
441 stainless steel coil is used in a variety of applications, including:
- Automotive exhaust systems: Its high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance make it ideal for components like manifolds and catalytic converters.
- Appliance parts: They can be found in washing machines, dryers, and other appliances that require durable and corrosion-resistant materials.
- Industrial equipment: Due to its formability and weldability, it’s used in various industrial applications.
- Architectural applications: While not as common as other stainless steel grades for architectural purposes, it can be used in some exterior applications.
